Dear Parents:

Please be advised that because the association was unable to conduct business for two consecutive months, our school’s Parent Association has ceased to function. Pursuant to Chancellor’s Regulation A-660 (CR A-660), “Parent Associations and the Schools,” I am responsible for convening a meeting so that expedited nominations and elections can be held. This meeting will take place on Monday May 18, 2015 at 5:30 pm.

We will begin by taking nominations from the floor for each available officer position. According to the current Parent Association bylaws, the officer positions for the association are president, recording secretary, treasurer. The only qualification for all offices is that the candidate be a parent of a child in the school. The core mandatory officer positions of president, recording secretary and treasurer must be filled at this meeting in order for our school to have a functional Parent Association. Please note that the current Parent Association bylaws set term limits at one term.

Elections will follow immediately after the close of nominations. Candidates will be asked to address the audience and make a brief statement expressing why they wish to be considered for an officer position. Please note that no material supporting any candidate or slate of candidates may be distributed, posted, or displayed in any school building in accordance with Chancellor’s Regulation D-130, “Political Activities in Schools.”

In order to vote in this election, you must be a parent by birth or adoption, step-parent, legally

appointed guardian, foster parent or person in parental relation to a child currently attending Spring

Creek Community School. Please make every effort to attend this important meeting. Your support
